eChart Manitoba 2018

We wanted to know whether Manitoba eHealth was sufficiently managing the significant risks that might prevent it from achieving the following operational objectives:

• Realizing its intended benefits.

• Ensuring its information is accessed only by authorized individuals.

• Ensuring it is available when needed.

We concluded that eHealth needs to better manage the risks of not achieving eChart’s intended benefits; that eHalth needs to strengthen eChart access controls; and that good processes were in place to ensure eChart will be available when needed.
