We wanted to know whether Manitoba eHealth was sufficiently managing the significant risks that might prevent it from achieving the following operational objectives:
Realizing its intended benefits.
Ensuring its information is accessed only by authorized individuals.
Ensuring it is available when needed.
We concluded that eHealth needs to better manage the risks of not achieving eChart’s intended benefits; that eHalth needs to strengthen eChart access controls; and that good processes were in place to ensure eChart will be available when needed.
